When you open the employee app, the Dashboard is the first thing you see. It shows you what needs your attention today — your current clock state, how many hours you have logged, your next scheduled shift, and any outstanding items like unread messages, pending requests, or required acknowledgements. From here you can jump directly into any part of Yrka without hunting through tabs.
Your organization controls which cards and sections appear on your Dashboard. If a card is missing, the feature may not be enabled for your profile.

The Today section

The Today card at the top of the Dashboard shows three things at a glance:
  • Clock state — whether you are currently clocked in or out
  • Today’s hours — the total time you have logged for today
  • Next scheduled shift — the date, time, and role of your upcoming assignment
Select the hours card to open Time Entry. Select the next-shift card to open Schedule and see your full calendar.

Required Actions

The Required Action section collects everything that is waiting for you across the app. Items appear here when you have:
  • Unread direct messages
  • Required acknowledgements on announcements or resources
  • Training assignments that are due
  • Task follow-ups waiting for your input
  • Time-off or coverage requests with a status change
1

Open the Required Action section

Find the Required Action section on your Dashboard. Each item links directly to the surface that owns it.
2

Open the item

Select the item to go directly to the right place — your Messages inbox, the Resources tab, the Tasks tab, or your Schedule.
3

Complete the action

Follow through in the owning surface. For example, read and acknowledge a message in Messages, or mark a task done in Tasks.
4

Return to Dashboard

Come back to Dashboard after completing the item. It should clear from Required Actions once the server records your action. If it does not clear right away, refresh the app.
Some actions — like time-off requests — stay visible until a manager reviews them. A “waiting” state means the next step belongs to someone else, not you.

Quick access to other sections

The Dashboard also shows summary counters for Messages, Resources, and Requests. Selecting any counter takes you directly to that section. Use Today Queue to see work that is ready or waiting, and check Request History when a recent request is still under review or has changed status.

Offline read cache

If you lose connectivity, Yrka shows you a read-cache status indicator. You can still see recently loaded content — your schedule, recent time entries, and resource pages that have been cached. Actions that write data (like clocking in or sending a message) will queue and sync when your connection returns.
File uploads, private documents, AI chat, and account actions are online-only. The offline read cache is for viewing content only.

Common issues

Your organization controls which features are enabled for your profile. If you expect to see a card — like Time Entry or Tasks — but it is not there, ask your manager to check your access settings.
Reconnect to your network and refresh the app. The Dashboard updates when it can reach the server.
The action has been saved on your device but has not reached the server yet. Keep the app open and stay connected until the status updates.
